The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Secondary Education Statewide offering provides teacher education access to prospective teachers across the state who do not have geographic access to licensure programs (priority admission granted to applicants from the islands of Hawai‘i, Kaua‘i, Lana‘i, Maui and Moloka‘i).
The "Statewide" is available in the content areas of Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Career & Technical Education; and is offered in an online/hybrid format with fieldwork requirements conducted on the candidate's respective island. More information about the program's features, requirements, and deadlines are included in the PBCSE's Statewide Brochure.
An "Online" offering, solely in Math & Science, is available in 2009 and 2010. In the online offering, students are expected to relocate to Hawaii for their student teaching semester and subsequent employment. Scholarships and details for this offering are available at the Teach in Hawaii website.
