The campus-based PBCSE is our face-to-face program designed for students who have a BA or BS degree and wish to obtain initial basic teacher licensure to teach in grades 7-12. We also offer an online PBCSE option.
The PBCSE program consists of a minimum of ten interrelated courses totaling at least 36 credits.

- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 in all post-secondary institutions as well as the content major;
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 for math & science majors;
- Graduate of an accredited and UHM-recognized four-year institution of higher education;
- Passing PRAXIS Subject Assessment Content Knowledge Test score;
- Minimum composite score of 516 in the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) with a minimum score of 170 in each subtest;
- Minimum of forty (40) hours working with secondary aged students within the last five (5) years;
- Successful completion of a personal admissions interview.
