The Private School Leadership master's degree is a cohort-based degree requiring 30-credit hours of study. A cohort of approximately 25 students is admitted to the program for a period of two consecutive summers and the intervening fall and spring semesters. The summer terms include on-campus instruction of about six weeks duration and students engage in field work projects at their home schools during the two intervening semesters.

The PSL program is a collaboration of the Department of Educational Foundations in the College of Education, University of Hawai'i, and the Hawai'i Association of Independent Schools (HAIS). It is designed for administrators, teachers, and other educators. Instruction blends research based knowledge with the wisdom of experienced private school leaders to prepare professionals for positions of leadership.

The next cohort of students will be admitted for Summer 2010. Applications are due November 16, 2009 to the HAIS office.
