Master's in Educational Foundations

The University of Hawai‘i Graduation Division application period is from October 1 to February 1. All documents must be submitted by February 1. Foreign student deadline is January 15.

PhD in Educational Foundations

Application materials are due by February 1 to the Graduate Division and the Educational Foundations office. The Educational Foundations office handles all additional paperwork for prospective doctoral students, regardless of which program they apply to (exclude Educational Psychology). The foreign student application deadline is January 15. Students are accepted into the PhD in Education and the PhD in Educational Psychology programs only once a year for the fall semester.

  • Three letters of recommendation;
  • Evidence of competency in formal writing (i.e. masters thesis, research paper, etc...);
  • Scores on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE): Verbal, Quantitative, Analytical, and writing;

  • Statement for pursuing a doctoral degree
